Do you know what the CV17 is?

I didn’t know what the CV17 is until researching this post.You have probably heard of energy meridians. And you probably know that along these meridians there are certain points that we can use to improve our health. In this post I want to talk about the conception meridian and how you can use it to reduce anxiety everyday.

What is the Conception Meridian?

Chinese medicine talks about 12 meridians or ‘energy highways’ where energy (or Qi) flows throughout our body. One of these meridians is called the Conception Vessel, or CV meridian. The CV meridian runs from the pubic area up the front of the body to the mouth. While traditionally the CV meridian’s is thought of mainly in terms of reproduction, there are many other areas it covers, including:

  • Liver
  • Kidney
  • Stomach
  • Spleen
  • Genitals
  • Lungs
  • Heart and much more.

Along the meridian there are 24 points that can be used to help healing, and recently one of my patients wrote to me with an interesting observation. She had been using the patterned crystal I sent her and had used it to find the CV17 point on herself. As a result of finding this point, she was able to reduce her fear, anxiety and stress by working on this point. I was so excited for her because I love to hear that my crystals are able to help people.

Where is this point?

I wanted to share this so that others could benefit as well since the CV17 point is a great point for balancing your emotions. The point itself is located right in the centre of your chest, just above the base of your breastbone. Another helpful way to find it is to find the centre-point between your nipples on your breastbone.

How can I use this point?

To activate CV17 place your hands in prayer position in front of the point, putting a slight amount of pressure on the point itself. Take several deep breaths in and out and then continue for a few minutes until finally you feel calmer. This exercise can be done throughout the day and anytime you feel stressed or anxious.

I encourage everyone to try this simple technique whenever they are feeling stressed or overwhelmed. It can be done anytime, anywhere. I would love to hear how this works for you.
